Hall of Fame Members

In 1920, women first won the right to vote in a federal election in this country, under the Conservative government of Sir Robert Borden. The next year, Hall of Fame honouree Agnes Macphail was first elected to the House of Commons.

Since that time, women have reached many milestones on the road to full equality. But we still have far to go.

Canadian women have achieved a great deal in politics, and this new Hall of Fame is intended to celebrate that fact. We also hope to use these inspiring stories to encourage other women to get involved in this important field.
